Definition of Qualitative and Quantitative Research
Qualitative research aims to understand human behaviour, intentions, attitudes, and experiences by observing and interpreting individuals. It is an exploratory and unstructured approach that explores complex phenomena. Its purpose is to gain a deeper understanding of a subject. This type of research involves interviews with open-ended questions, describing observations using descriptive language, and employing similar techniques.
Both forms have their place in the research. The sample sizes of the data are always very large as research is something that is done by an individual for years. It is observed that data collection methods used by the students are very unique but, in the end, everything needs to be evaluated to get clarity. It is seen that students get to know about the definitions of both the terms so that they can have a better understanding of them and can complete the entire process efficiently.
